Responsibilities

  • The A Side: A Day in The Life:
  • Reporting into the Senior Licensing Manager helping support key accounts such as NOW That’s What I Call Music and other 3rd Party Labels, working in an overall team of seven. You will be working across all Universal labels and key departments within the group including Marketing and Business Affairs.
  • A successful candidate will have strong communication, IT and interpersonal relationship skills, be proactive with strong attention to detail, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. They will have the ability to work independently under time constraints to deliver results. They must be confident at communicating via email and working on deep, research-intensive administrative tasks.
  • The B Side: Skills & Experience:
  • Be Collaborative:
  • Coordinating licenses for UK & EIRE
  • Working closely with Legal & BA to issue music licence agreements to new and existing music labels, negotiating and agreeing payment terms
  • Liaising with artist’s management with the view to obtaining permission to use Universal Music UK tracks for licensing projects
  • Working closely with Licensing colleagues and Product Managers, Catalogue to effectively clear repertoire in line with key project timescales – this will involve working to tight deadlines
  • Liaison daily with internal music divisions at all levels including Legal & BA, Global Royalties, UMR, UMG Artists & Management, Third Party Labels & all internal UMG Labels
  • Manage strong relationships with external third party (major and independent) labels
  • Extensive knowledge of UMG repertoire and licensing rights
  • To carry out any other reasonable instruction as directed by the Senior Licensing Manager
  • Be Administrative:
  • Updating and maintaining records of cleared projects so if a problem or question with that project arises, details will be easily accessible
  • General administrative duties, including filing finished projects in alphabetical and numerical order
  • Helping Universal employee’s world-wide to determine rights for tracks and helping with any other queries that arise
