Requirements

  • On track to complete a degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEng)
  • A flexible and innovative self-starter who’s passionate about developing new skills

  • Empathy and listening skills to help you truly understand our clients’ requirements
  • A well-rounded individual – have you worked in a bar? Been captain of a sports team or volunteered for a charity? Tell us – we’re looking for people with interesting stories and experiences!
  • You must be available to join the 8-week programme starting 1st July 2024 – 22nd August 2024.
  • You must have the permanent right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • As Cities & Places, we can create thriving places across different scales: from regions to cities, neighbourhoods to individual buildings, by offering an integrated design approach. We have a tremendous opportunity in front of us to build upon strength to develop an interdisciplinary planning, design and delivery practice that is uniquely Jacobs, that sets the direction for the industry, and is home to the very best and brightest design thinkers, disruptors, technical experts, visionaries and storytellers.
  • Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, designers, MEP & BIM specialists, surveyors, urban designers, project managers and transport planners to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for our clients both nationally and internationally.
  • Our Building Services team are involved in a variety of planned and reactive maintenance, refurbishment and new build projects including several multi-million-pound development schemes and framework agreements within the construction industry. These consist of multi-residential high, medium and low-rise infrastructure replacement projects, district heating upgrades, as well as education-based projects including new build schools and student accommodation both design and technical adviser roles.
  • Our Mechanical Engineers coordinate the designs of mechanical building services projects, providing an oversight of the project performance alongside an appreciation of quality assurance and business management.
