Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an accredited Ocean or Mechanical Engineering program, or an equivalent discipline.
  • At least one year of coursework completed
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be a sole US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with design, analysis, testing, and fabrication of mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, assembling, or maintaining mechanical equipment, machining, or other fabrication experience.
  • Experience with the operation of equipment in a maritime environment.
  • Experience in any of the following areas: robotics, sensors, underwater vehicles, energy systems, pressure vessels, hydraulics, and underwater communications or acoustics

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will support engineering projects for use in ocean and other challenging environments. Product areas include sensor packaging, underwater vehicle payloads and support equipment, and underwater energy and communications systems. The candidate will typically work on teams with CAD designers, engineers, scientists, fabricators, and technicians in a multi-disciplinary environment under time and budget restrictions to deliver specialized equipment for a variety of customers. The successful candidate will execute tasks and be required to report on their status. Travel may be required.
