Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Must be available for 11 – 14 weeks during Summer 2024 (May-September) with a graduation date of December 2024 or later
  • Successful candidates will have academic project experience in at least one or more of the following areas:
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and commercial tools: ANSYS preferred. Comsol and Abaqus experience heavily valued.
  • Familiar with Cadence Sip, AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • Coursework in Solid Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Knowledge in mechanics, thermal and material science
  • Knowledge in Mechanical design, heat transfer, microelectronics device, Internet of Things
  • Knowledge of IC packaging structures, chip-package and package-board interaction.
  • Familiar with electronic packaging process and typical failure modes.
  • Solid knowledge in electromagnetic field theory, analog and digital circuits
  • Coursework in Electromagnetism, Finite Element Analysis and signal and power integrity.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and commercial tools: ANSYS EM, Cadence Sigrity etc.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscope, vector network analyzer or spectrum analyzer is a plus
  • Server product design, thermal analysis, system impedance testing, fan performance measurement and heatsink design methodology.
  • Experience with server and datacenter hardware projects.
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Wind tunnel and/or air flow bench operation
  • Programming in Python, Matlab
