Requirements

  • Studying towards an Undergraduate Degree in Engineering and be on track to achieve a 2:1 standard or higher.
  • Good analytical skills, flexibility to work on various topics at one time and support operational implementations when required is necessary.
  • Some prior knowledge of logistics processes and industry experience would be advantageous; more important is the ability to learn quickly and to bring original ideas on process improvement opportunities to the team and into the business.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of all standard Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Powerpoint, some knowledge/exposure to SAP would also be beneficial.
  • Good English, Communication and interpersonal skills are also expected with an ability to summarise topics and present clearly

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and implementation of efficient material flow and structure layout plans and strategies, consistent with lean/VPS principles.
  • Integration and optimisation of complex derivatives in to logistics processes, whilst understanding the cost and available space in the warehousing areas.
  • Using Excel and other software to analyse data, and PowerPoint to present topics to the team and management will be required across topics in daily business.
  • Support with throughput and volume data as well as getting hands on to develop and implement new solutions to improve the competitiveness of the business.
  • Assist in the development of new approaches such as 3D simulation to design future Material Flow and structures within the logistics areas associated with the manufacture of new vehicles
  • Compilation and reporting of Logistics Key figures regarding the plant status on logistics processes, areas, distances manpower and hours per car.
  • You will co-ordinating and improving the office Visual Management systems, and chairing team meetings.
