Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements include:
  • Students from construction management academic discipline will be considered.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to job sites
  • Self-starter, with the ability prioritize and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building ability
  • Ability to be flexible and maintain a positive attitude
  • Determined and trustworthy
  • Current Juniors and Seniors will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • As a Modern Constructors Summer Intern with Hines, you will:
  • Work with Project Manager to review cost, schedule, safety, quality, and completion of construction projects.
  • Spend time at job sites to gain hands-on knowledge and additional training in construction and development.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of progress reports, re-projections, and other documentation required for construction.
  • Assist with development of project estimates, pricing, and schedules.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of schedules and budgets as needed for support of projects.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of cash flows and monthly billing.
  • Assist in preparing and obtaining change orders for assigned projects.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of the health of a project.
  • Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.
