Data analytic consulting and customer service:
Analytic consulting:
Ability to identify data analytic methods, tools, and/or solutions to support audit projects for OIG’s Office of Audit.
Analytic solutions:
Develop and deliver a broad variety of data analytic products and services in support of audit projects (e.g., analyses, data mining, reports, dashboards, data visualization, automation, surveys). Partner with subject matter experts, as needed.
Data acquisition:
Work with data owners/suppliers within NASA, OIG peers, and open source to obtain/maintain required data.
Data reliability and validity assessment:
Ability to conduct assessments in compliance with Government Accountability Office’s GAGAS (generally accepted government auditing standards) and produce documentation.
Communication:
Write/edit portions of audit report related to analytics. Partner with subject matter experts to contribute to report messaging, infographic development, and storytelling.
Interpersonal and leadership:
Demonstrate skills to ensure AIT customer satisfaction, effective management of projects, and effective collaboration with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

NASA OIG’s Office of Data Analytics (ODA) provides analytic consultation, data services, and develops data products to support audits, investigations, and management and planning functions. We develop and maintain a secure data analytic infrastructure that automates processes; secure data in cloud and on-premise environments; and rapidly disseminate critical information to decision makers to detect and deter fraud, waste, and abuse. ODA’s Audit Insight Team (AIT) partners with OIG’s Office of Audit (OA) to develop data products and automation solutions, and provide a broad variety of analytic services to support OA.

Examples may include staffing and planning tool, audit projects dashboard, searchable database tool, general ledger analytics, grants oversight & risk modeling, NASA program oversight dashboard. AIT partners with ODA experts in different domains (statisticians, data scientists, data engineers, business intelligence).
