Requirements

Familiarity with the Adobe Suite, specifically Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder and Photoshop
Must be detail oriented and possess excellent verbal and written skills
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities
Must possess the ability to balance multiple simultaneous projects with a professional demeanor and prioritize work while under pressure
Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work with minimal direction and exercise independent judgment
Must have strong customer service/client relation skills
Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel
Adept at learning new software
Interest in National Geographic and its core subjects
Education:
To be eligible for this internship you must be a junior, senior or a recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date) pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, English or related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted work authorization
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
Must be able to work on-site in Washington, DC and provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship

Responsibilities

Intern will learn about video editing Standard Operating Procedure’s “SOP(s)” and workflows and provide on-site editing assistance to a Senior Lead Editor
Intern will be exposed to the process of ensuring that raw footage meets the highest technical, creative standards for editing and audio post-production environment.
Intern will get to see how a project is started and collaborate with various client groups across the company.
Intern will assist/mentored by a diverse group of editors with varying creative the technical skills/styles to share.
Intern will participate in on-site screenings of finished works and works in process, to get a greater understanding of the process of overcoming creative and technical challenges.
Intern will either be imbedded into a particular show /delivery or float to assorted projects to experience multiple shows process/deliveries.
