Requirements

  • College undergraduate or graduate status with 1-3 years at an accredited college or university, pursuing an academic field of study related to Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other technological fields of study.
  • Competencies/Skills:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Analytical ability to solve complex problems.
  • Understanding of Engineering/Manufacturing principles.
  • Due to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Intern must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the preparation of Master Project Plans (timing schedules) based on in-flight programs.
  • Works collaboratively with plant staff to develop and implement gaging, changeover and machine work instructions.
  • Supports OE (Operational Excellence) Initiatives throughout Allison Indianapolis Plants
  • OE Initiatives may include but are not limited to: Implementation of CLRI (Clean, Lube, Retighten, Inspect). Creation of gage and table layouts. Support of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Supports plant Industrial Engineers to review and update SOS (Standard Operating Sheets)
  • Works with Operations Program Managers to populate and verify IPA (Initial Production Approval) documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
