Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Packaging Engineer degree
  • Someone entering junior or senior year preferred
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are necessary in order to act as a liaison between engineering, production, marketing, purchasing, and members of the manufacturing team.
  • Work as a team player
  • Good mechanical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Providing general production support for assembly and/or machining cells as needed:
  • Participate in hands-on problem solving and resolution.
  • Weigh in on situations that need technical assistance.
  • Troubleshoot shipping damage claims to determine how to resolve issues.
  • Consolidate and document WIP packaging used within manufacturing.
  • Assist in the designing of and implementation of packaging solutions:
  • Work with Engineering, Marketing, & Manufacturing to understand packaging requirements for new projects.
  • Research and suggest ideas for ways to improve packaging for existing products.
  • Create packaging specifications using AutoCAD.
  • Load and update specifications within manufacturing database.
  • Load and maintain packaging components within manufacturing BOM’s.
