Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Candidates who have earned a degree may work for a period not to exceed 12 months. Must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
  • Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands on experience in wet chemistry, polymer synthesis and characterization, catalytic conversion, experience on advanced analytic chemistry (FTIR, NMR, GC-MS, etc).

Responsibilities

  • The internship requires hands-on experience of power-electronic converter development and testing, as well as broader knowledge of control system theory. The intern should also be experienced in modeling of controls and power electronics systems in MATLAB Simulink or comparable software. Familiarity with CAN communications, real-time simulation platforms, and battery cells is also desirable.
  • The intern should be comfortable working in an electrical laboratory setting. The student will be expected to collaborate with other researchers, use their initiative, and have a positive attitude towards problem-solving and tackling more complex research challenges. The intern should be willing to participate in technical discussions, as well as be able to convey their own work and findings in written documents and presentations.
