The candidate must be a college or university student pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields, with a GPA of 3.0 or above. They should have a good understanding of basic engineering principles and the ability to apply them to solve energy infrastructure problems. Effective communication skills, teamwork abilities, and exposure to topics and tools related to power systems and modeling are also necessary.

The Power Systems Undergraduate Intern will provide technical and research support in power systems, critical infrastructure, and cybersecurity under supervision. They will gather and analyze data, participate in research planning, attend seminars and training classes, and present their work.

The 2024 CSI program will run during the&nbsp;summer&nbsp;with a range of start dates between May 20, 2024, and June 24, 2024 and flexible end dates through September 30, 2024. CSI is designed to provide selected candidates an opportunity to apply their skills to projects in areas of national importance such as energy infrastructure modernization and resilience, critical infrastructure security, and defense critical infrastructure. The program will include opportunities to participate in professional and technical development activities with lab Subject Matter Experts, network with fellow interns and lab employees, and learn about the breadth of LLNL’s support to US national security.</li></ul>
