Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status)
  • Desired Skills:
  • At least Sophomore standing for undergrad at the time of application
  • Able to work at least 12 weeks (starting the end of May or early June through August)
  • Previous applicable internships
  • Self-starter
  • High level of computer skills (Microsoft Applications and Internet)

Responsibilities

  • Reduce tribal knowledge gaps and enhance safety evaluation steps.
  • Develop a driver safety report to eliminate FMCA violations.
  • Assess and update the Product Safety Team process to eliminate gaps.
  • Investigate current business processes, identifying shortfalls, issues, and complaints.
  • Analyze data to pinpoint areas of waste, duplication, and frequent errors.
  • Coordinate and manage key process improvement projects.
  • Monitor and analyze the results of changes to ensure effectiveness.
  • Make impactful recommendations for process and investigation redesign.
  • Establish measurable criteria for desired results and track progress.
  • Collaboration is Key:
  • Collaborate with Product Safety Investigators to detail a value stream map for the product safety process.
  • Document each step in the product safety process and include them in our Project Status Template.
  • Innovation Alert:
  • Work with our dash cam Supplier, Navistar HR, and Fleet Safety Manager to draft a policy on dash camera use. This includes creating a driver sign-off form to ensure accountability.
