  • - Understands how to read patterns and basic hand sewing and machine sewing is a plus

Responsibilities

  • - Make collection boards, and update seasonal line sheets.
  • - Prepare knitwear fabric cards once swatches are approved.
  • - Make color-ups of illustrations using Photoshop and illustrator, and/or ProCreate.
  • - Assist with creating of artwork layouts (intarsia, stripes, crochet, jacquards).
  • - Assist design department and product development team with collection development.
  • - Shadow Design Department with all department related activities specifically focusing on creating tech-packs, preparing packages, daily factory communications.
  • - Participate in Design and Concept Developments.
  • - Shadow Manager with creation and approval of Textile artwork.
  • - Witness the creation and approval of Embroideries and Embellishments.
  • - Participate in the creation and approval of Color Palettes and Inspiration Boards.
  • - Participate in design fittings & take notes during knitwear fittings.
  • - Participate in pre-show styling/fittings.
  • - Participate in backstage runway show, if possible.
  • - Research and source materials, trims, fabric, etc based on the seasonal collection needs.
  • - Prepare fabrics and supplies for factories.
  • - Support with factory pick-up and drop offs around the garment district.
  • - Support atelier with inventory management and procure supplies/services in the garment district.
  • - Prepare swatch and sketch updates for atelier patternmakers.
  • - Organize samples for weekly fittings, and organize and prepare samples for show/photoshoot.
  • - Assist Studio Manager in maintaining an organized and clutter free studio.
