Requirements

  • Some related experience preferred in Lighting Optical design, Electrical design as it relates to lighting.
  • Your preferred qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Currently Attending a College or University
  • Professional Communication skills (Strong organizational, written, verbal and communication skills) and Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred experience in Optical lighting design, electrical and mechanical design a plus.
  • Demonstrates ability to conceptualize, coordinate, integrate internal data, and clearly articulate concepts, ideas, and other issues relating to product engineering.
  • Demonstrates ability to carry out projects from beginning to end in coordination with internal and external contacts and work on moderate to long-term assignments which are broad in nature. and able to deal with many projects at one time. Must be able to work independently.
  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.

Responsibilities

  • Work is focused on daily workflow requirements which involve detailed engineering assignments. Guidance is provided either by instruction received on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions; or in the form of independently evaluating, selecting, and applying established and well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, policies, or systems. Decisions involve minimal risk to the organization. Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Support team efforts related to product, process, tooling, testing, and materials as it relates to product engineering activities including benchmarking automotive and non-automotive parts when necessary.
  • Takes direction from other staff engineers and Engineering Managers for predevelopment engineering activities through the production phase. Understands and adheres to program schedule and reports progress as required.
  • Serves as a liaison and coordinates development activities of internal and external resources. Serves as a resource by providing a problem-solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Researches, recommends, and implements new and/or existing products, processes, materials, and equipment. Engages in comparative and competitive analysis to ensure utilization of most appropriate beneficial techniques.
