Requirements

  • University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:
  • University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
  • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.
  • Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
  • Current enrollment in a training program in medicine or surgery, engineering, computer science, or data science at formal training program at the Master’s or Doctorate or postdoctorate level.
  • Competitive candidates should learn quickly and have demonstrated top performance in prior degree granting programs.
  • Experience in innovation programs such as Stanford Biodesign or MBA programs is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a hospital with physicians is highly desirable.
  • Experience in venture capital is also highly desirable.
  • Candidates should be able to impose simple actionable strategy upon complex real world healthcare systems.
  • Candidates must be able to independently suggest next steps while seeking and taking feedback and direction fluidly.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Director of Digital Product Management, Clinical Intelligence and Medical Sciences. The candidate will be responsible for providing deep analysis of surgical disease states and identifying unmet needs that can map to data and digital solutions that do not yet exist. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate these needs to both executive level teams, technical teams, and customers in both written and spoken forms.
  • Provide business analysis on unmet needs
  • Able to find and evaluate market data for reliable decision making
  • Able to read, interpret, and summarize clinical publications
  • Have an understanding of how healthcare is delivered
  • Create professional presentations that summarize product management analysis to diverse audiences
