Requirements

  • Experience or interest in collecting, managing, or analyzing geographical data
  • Interest and knowledge in reading and understanding construction plans (as-builts)
  • Familiar with ArcMap or ArcPro
  • Ability to stay organized and work independently
  • To be eligible for the City of Boise Internship Program, applicants must be:
  • Undergraduate or graduate students with a strong academic record or graduated in the last 12 months from an accredited university
  • Majoring in geography, computer science, engineering, geographic information systems, or related fields
  • Be able to work up to 20 hours per week.
  • Be able to commit to the entire internship program.

Responsibilities

  • Public Works Geographic information systems (GIS) intern will be responsible for assisting in a range of GIS data entry as they apply to the City of Boise's regulations. Their duties will include georeferencing as-builts, mapping assets, documenting data, researching, and gps’ing.
