Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have been trained in fundamental journalistic principles and have experience in editing digital editorial content.
  • Qualifications include:
  • Journalism or communications studies
  • Experience working with a content management system such as WordPress
  • Excellent editing and communication skills
  • Experience working with Google Drive, Sheets, and Docs
  • Experience communicating via Slack or a similar online platform
  • Experience in working with medical content or medical journals considered a plus
  • The ability to work both independently and with team members
  • Flexibility

Responsibilities

  • Line edit and copy edit updated versions of existing resource pages on various disease topics. This includes evaluating them for consistency, clarity, structure, style, and grammar.
  • Identify and insert relevant hyperlinks in the updated pages
  • Use content management system (CMS) to replace existing Resource Pages with updated versions
  • Update backend web parameters and confirm that updates publish as intended
  • Track the progress of updates on spreadsheets
  • Communicate with writers and editors regarding questions on updates
