Requirements

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in the field of Computer Science, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
  • Experience in human physiology and bioengineering
  • Experience with signal processing single and multichannel time series sensor data in MATLAB or Python
  • Experience with machine learning methods in MATLAB and/or Python (random forest, SVM, Deep learning, etc)
  • Familiarity with deep learning fundamentals and tools like Pytorch, Tensorflow, or Keras.
  • Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
  • Familiarity with processing data from user trials
  • Hands on experience with temperature sensors, IMU, PPG, EMG, ECG, etc dataforms
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, data acquisition hardware, and signal processing chains.
  • Familiarity with biostatistics and machine learning for qualification of multimodal data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop algorithms to extract useful features from a wide range of biosensors robust to noise
  • Hardware characterization & analysis
  • Work with study coordinators to design studies and find key results
  • Work with study coordinators to collect data
  • Run analysis on sensor performance such as accuracy, sensitivity, SNR, etc.
  • Communicate and present results to a wide range of audiences
