Requirements

  • University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:
  • University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
  • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.
  • Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
  • Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree-seeking program at the Doctorate level. Master’s level students would also be considered based on specific relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing controllers and electronics for mechatronic systems.
  • Hands-on experience interfacing with sensors, actuators, and data acquisition systems.
  • Proficiency using C, C++, and Matlab for data capture and analysis.
  • Strong hands-on engineering experience with proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design algorithms & motion controllers and test hardware for robotic manipulator evaluations.
  • Integrate hardware and software components for prototype systems.
  • Support multiple iterations of testing.
  • Document and present detailed performance reports to the team
