Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. student or highly qualified M.S. student in Computer Science, Robotics, or related fields (Must be a current student or recent graduate – less than 1 year)
  • Strong background in robotics
  • Solid C++ and Python programming skills
  • Strong experience programming real robotic systems using ROS2
  • Hands-on experience working with robotic middlewares such as ROS2 or FogROS2
  • Hands-on experience working on real robots, including mobile platforms and robotic arms
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Publication record in top venues (ICRA, IROS, RSS, CoRL, NeurIPs etc.)
  • Experience in embedded systems or distributed systems is a plus
  • Experience in cloud computation is a plus
  • Cloud computing platform experience (i.e. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Hands-on experience with quadruped robots (e.g. Unitree Go) or mobile manipulation robots (e.g. Hello Robot Stretch) is a plus
  • Able to work independently, has strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Build up a robust and compelling robotic showcase on existing hardware, integrating internal and public perception and manipulation approaches.
  • Integrate LLMs, VLMs and robotic foundation models into the showcase, to achieve higher levels of scene understanding and autonomy.
  • Deploy robotic function blocks such as foundation models on the cloud, to enable usage on the robotic demonstrator.
  • Summarize research findings in high-quality paper and/or patent submissions.
