Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow oral and basic written instructions. May have a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation. May require a basic knowledge of a particular subject area. (Individuals may be high school students.) Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Age Requirement: 16 -24
  • The Social Media inter should have experience or educational background in Marketing/PR, Communications, Journalism, and Film TV.

  • Admin. & Regulatory Affairs ParkHouston The Social Media inter should have experience or educational background in Marketing/PR, Communications, Journalism, and Film TV.
  • Houston Public Works Communications An intern can bring numerous benefits to our communications team. They can help save time and resources by delegating graphic design tasks to someone with the necessary skill set, and a fresh perspective from another designer can bring creativity and innovation to our existing and upcoming design projects. Additionally, working with an intern can provide an opportunity for mentorship and professional development. Hiring a graphic design or general communications intern can elevate our brand, workflow, and creative output within our team, as well as provide additional leadership experience.
  • Houston Public Works Planning Support the promotion of Houston Water's outreach programs. Primary responsibilities will involve actively participating in outreach initiatives, formulating social media strategies, drafting program messaging and implementation plans, tracking program reach, identifying potential community partners and new outreach platforms, as well as exploring advertising avenues.
  • Houston Public Works Houston Permitting Center- Communications Interns will work with the graphic artist and outreach coordinator to create engaging social media post and projects to inform the general public of activities happening here at the Houston Permitting Center
  • Human Resources OT&OD Responsible for the redesign, content creation, updates, and troubleshooting of the OT&OD webpages while maintaining City of Houston guidelines.
  • Human Resources Communications Depending on skills, job duties can include writing, social media posts, graphic design, file management, photography and other communication activities.
  • Office of Business Opportunity External Affairs Contribute to the creation of marketing collateral and social media content, present new social media campaign ideas, monitor social media accounts, assist with daily admin duties
