Requirements

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress. We will consider recent graduates one semester beyond degree.
  • Current class standing of Junior or above
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a Visa or sponsorship
  • The ability to work at the station, located at 2450 N. First Street, San Jose, CA
  • Desired:
  • Desired Backgrounds Include: Journalism or Broadcast Journalism, Digital/New Media Studies, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Production, English, Social Media, Research.

Responsibilities

  • Interns will work closely with the Production Team in the control room in the broadcast of NBC Bay Area newscasts and recordings. You will work with the directors, assistant directors and production assistants to learn necessary production skills and take on tasks to increase your knowledge in news production. Strong interest in TV news production a plus. Behind the scenes training will include learning teleprompter, robotic cameras, Ross Overdrive, Dalet and other control room equipment. The production internship position is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in tv news in a fast-paced, live news environment.
