Requirements

  • A passion for software development and delivery.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have a desire to work in a team but also be self-organizing enough to be able to work on a task independently.
  • The Skillset:
  • Required:
  • Some previous experience in and Object-Oriented Software Language such as C# or Java.
  • An understanding of T-SQL Databases.
  • Experience with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
  • Some knowledge/experience with modern UI frameworks e.g. Angular, React.
  • Knowledge of using source control systems such as Git or TFS.
  • Knowledge of software testing.
  • Techniques: Dynamic – Unit, Integration etc.
  • Static – Manual or Automatic (using some tool e.g. – Veracode, SonarQube).
  • Tools: Visual Studio, NUnit, MSTest, Postman etc.
  • Nice to Haves:
  • An understanding of server side web technologies such as Web Api and MVC
  • Experience using an ORM framework (NHibernate, Entity Framework)

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Team Lead, Technology Delivery, the Software QA Engineer Co-op will work with the Technology Delivery Team made up of Developers and Testers and will take an active part in delivering high quality software to Rakuten Kobo’s users.
