Undergraduate students in public policy or related fields with a strong interest in American politics & policy, congress, fiscal & monetary politics, and electoral politics. Must have excellent writing, research, and data management skills, as well as proficiency in Excel, Stata, R, and/or Python. Must be located in the U.S. and pass a background investigation.

The intern will support research projects, including fact-checking, data coding, and data collection, related to Congress, the Presidency, and legislative gridlock. They will work closely with Senior Fellows Molly Reynolds and Sarah Binder and may also explore topics such as political polarization, government reform, data management, and data science.

Students engage in career exploration and development as well as&nbsp;learn&nbsp;new skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Interns will have the opportunity to attend virtual meetings, think tank events, professional development workshops, and public Brookings events. In addition, interns will have the opportunity to network with other interns throughout the Institution.&nbsp;</li><li>This internship is an opportunity for undergraduate students in their junior or senior year and graduate students with an interest in American politics and policy to apply principles and theory learned in the classroom in a professional environment. This internship pays an hourly rate of $17.00, and applicants must be willing to commit to a minimum number of hours per week (no less than 20 hours per week, during regular business hours), with some flexibility around an academic course schedule.</li></ul>
