  • Experience Required: 
  • 1-year of professional experience or previous work in comms or comms-related field.
  • Previous broadcast experience and/or working knowledge of broadcast PR.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Strong written communications with minimal grammatical and spelling errors.
  • Ability to think critically, analytically, and synthesize information into organized, professional, and concise written materials.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the following areas:

Responsibilities

  • Understand the significant role strategic communications play in achieving our clients’ business objectives. 
  • Learn WE's unique methods and best practices around relationship building and strategic communications with clients and media influencers.  
  • Build media relations skills and identify important and upcoming industry trends. 
  • Research the basics of clients’ products, PR plans, and teams’ strategies and tactics to help clients tell their stories to their target audiences. 
  • Work with the WE Broadcast team to manage and/or route reactive media requests, develop story ideas, and contribute to planning/strategy for major events and/or moments. 
  • Support distribution of news and announcements to a variety of media, including logistics coordination and materials development for press engagements, industry moments, etc.  
  • Develop a deep sense of teamwork with colleagues across the US using Microsoft Teams technology. 
  • Report and provide insight on relevant coverage and industry/cultural trends.
  • Employment is not guaranteed at the completion of the internship program.
