The ideal candidate for the Spring 2024 Communications Internship at The Brookings Institution should be an undergraduate junior or senior, or a graduate student studying public policy, political science, communications, journalism, or related fields. Strong writing, social media, analytical, and multi-tasking skills are expected, with preference for experience in copy editing. The candidate must be located in the U.S. for the entire internship and pass a background investigation.

The Communications Intern will support the Governance Studies team at The Brookings Institution by conducting media research, drafting social media content, editing papers and blogs, monitoring media coverage, promoting research and events, and assisting with outreach activities and event organization.

Students engage in career exploration and development as well as learn new skills.</li><li>Interns will have the opportunity to attend virtual meetings, think tank events, professional development workshops, and public Brookings events.&nbsp;&nbsp;In addition, interns will have the opportunity to network with other interns throughout the Institution.</li><li>This internship is an opportunity for undergraduate students in their junior or senior year and graduate students with an interest in communications to apply principles and theory learned in the classroom in a professional environment. This internship pays an hourly rate of $17.00, and applicants must be willing to commit to a minimum number of hours per week (no less than 20 hours per week, during regular business hours), with some flexibility around an academic course schedule.</li></ul>
