Requirements

  • Pursuing a graduate or PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field.
  • Advanced Research achievements in scientific papers and patents on related topics
  • Advanced understanding of fundamentals in inorganic/organic chemistry, reaction kinetics
  • Experience in designing and synthesizing new compounds for application in electrochemical systems
  • Experience with a wide range of material property characterization techniques
  • Expertise with testing the performance of electrochemical systems
  • Attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, and excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Must be able to work full-time during the internship
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Available to work onsite for 6 months - 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesis of inorganic and organic components of battery
  • Battery performance characterization such as cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical performance, cycling
  • Analysis of materials properties such as ionic and electronic conductivity measurement, structure analysis, impedance measurement, temperature sensitivity etc
  • Conduct extensive descriptive analytics on collected data
  • Analyze, summarize and present research findings and results through presentations, reports/documents and publications
