What is the purpose of volunteering as a Stockroom Volunteer?
The purpose of volunteering as a Stockroom Volunteer is to help our charity fund lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases, supporting families and loved ones affected by these conditions.
What types of tasks will I be doing as a Stockroom Volunteer?
As a Stockroom Volunteer, you will be preparing donated items for sale, using a clothes steamer, attaching labels and tags to items, identifying unsaleable donations for recycling, and keeping the sort room organized and tidy.
Is this a paid position?
No, this is an unpaid voluntary position.
What is the minimum age requirement to volunteer?
We are unable to accept volunteers aged under 16.
Are there any restrictions regarding criminal convictions?
Yes, we cannot accept volunteers with unspent criminal convictions.
What benefits do I receive as a volunteer?
As a volunteer, you receive a 25% discount on donated goods, a 10% discount on new goods in our shops, unlimited support from Retail Trust, access to training and development, reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses, refreshments, volunteer certificates and references, and access to discounts with other retailers.
How flexible is the volunteering schedule?
Volunteering with us is easy, flexible, and inclusive, allowing you to spare a few hours a week or a couple of hours occasionally.
Do I need any specific skills to apply for the Stockroom Volunteer role?
No specific skills are required, but a keen interest in organizing and tidying, as well as a willingness to learn how to use a clothes steamer, will be beneficial.
Can I volunteer if I have other commitments?
Yes, you can volunteer alongside other commitments, as we welcome varying levels of availability.
