Requirements

  • Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
  • Enrolled in Civil Engineering degree program
  • Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic
  • Junior or senior level at time of internship preferred

Responsibilities

  • We are looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern, who is passionate about the construction process to join our team. At ARCO, an Intern/Co-op has the opportunity to assist their team with the following:
  • Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and other outside project team members
  • Prepare preliminary designs for clients
  • Review building codes to assure correct implementation of preparation and design
  • Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
  • Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction
  • Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure complete and accurate agreement
