Requirements

  • A 2nd to penultimate year University of Edinburgh undergraduate student
  • Experience in using MS Office e.g. Excel
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • An interest in data analysis
  • An interest in learning strategies and theory
  • An understanding of working with sensitive/confidential data

Responsibilities

  • The primary focus of the internships will be performing an in-depth analysis of our student workshops and study skills consultation engagement data, to investigate key questions about who is using our provision, what they value from it, and highlight any gaps or potential avenues, using quantitative and qualitative techniques.
  • The secondary focus will be contributing to and preparing the Study Hub Blog. This will include reviewing and editing existing material, identifying new topics of interest and writing some new posts, and proposing a strategy to increase engagement with the blog and learning resources.   • There will be some flexibility for interns to choose to work on tasks most suited to their interests and skills development needs, but an indicative split of tasks would be as follows:
  • Exploring and analysing workshop and study skills consultation data 60%
  • Reviewing and contributing to the Study Hub Blog 20%
  • Producing the final report and presentation reviewing provision, identifying gaps and key recommendations 15%
  • Contributing to and engaging with wider IAD and Employ.ed on Campus activities
