Requirements

  • Marketing, Communications, or other related major, must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with a preferred GPA of 3.0
  • Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Kroger Co (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)
  • Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and oral communication skills (writing samples required)
  • Demonstrated research and interviewing skills
  • Willingness to seek out and develop stories to support team's goals
  • Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to track and execute multiple projects/deliverables at once
  • Proficient in AP style
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education:
  • Any experience in project management; experience with web content management systems
  • Proficient in graphic design, primarily using the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Interest in organizational communications and/or change management

Responsibilities

  • Support the Associate Communications department by developing compelling content and executing company-wide campaigns and initiatives that help share the company's unique story with associates. Collaborate with corporate management to communicate the company's strategy and priorities internally, establishing the company as the best source of information for associates in all locations. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
  • Develop creative content about our company's purpose and strategy that enhances Kroger's reputation through storytelling
  • Assist in the production of weekly e-newsletters
  • Help plan, gather information, write, edit and produce content across our internal channels
  • Develop/implement communication plans to support corporate events or initiatives
  • Pull data to track and measure content or campaign performance
  • Support communication and engagement events for corporate office associates
  • Work with Human Resources to provide communication support for our people strategy to hire, develop and retain top talent
  • Travel to divisions to develop stories
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
