The candidate for the Geotechnical Engineer Intern position at Jacobs must be currently enrolled at an accredited university with at least 45 credit hours completed and a minimum GPA of 2.8. They should be pursuing a degree in materials science, geotechnical engineering, geoscience, or a related field, and have prior experience working in a geotechnical lab, specifically with a Digital Pneumatic Direct Shear Machine. Knowledge of ASTM standards is also required.

The geotechnical engineer intern will work within the Simulant Development Lab at NASA JSC, primarily analyzing and testing granular materials using various instruments, preparing and analyzing samples, and performing additional duties as needed.
