Requirements

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in American History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or Architectural Design with a historic concentration.
  • Anticipated graduation date within one year of internship
  • Minimum Overall and Major GPA of 3.0
  • Professional Skills Requirements:
  • Work effectively in a fast pace, high-energy environment.
  • Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in historical and online research.
  • Ability to describe historic concepts, relate events, people and objects in historic context and present historic arguments through strong writing.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.
  • Ability to travel for site visits.
  • Intermediate knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, and etc.
  • Computer Skills:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
  • Certificates and Licenses:
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional client service to our clients by identifying historic tax credit opportunities
  • Assist clients with state and local tax applications, which includes preparing clients for discussions with regulators
  • Research and draft Part 1 applications and National Register nominations
  • Provide expertise on American History, Architectural History or related field.
  • Assist managers and consultants by preparing federal Historic Preservation Certification Application Parts 1, 2, and 3;
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests from State Historic Preservation Office and National Park Service regulators
  • Review documentation and research issues
  • Work with raw data to identify tax credit opportunities
