Requirements

  • PhD student in CS or Engineering emphasize on NLP/LLM algorithm development or experiment.
  • Fluent with transformer and LLM theory and application.
  • Can work independently with problem-solving skills with CUDA/Ubuntu/Python.
  • Preferred:
  • Hands-on experience in LLM training or fine-tuning on a multi-GPU environment.
  • Awards in math competitions will be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • The successful intern in this position will help jump-start LLM usage in engineering work, completing such projects as:
  • RAG (retrieval augmented generation) on engineering documents for Q&A.
  • Fine-tuning LLM for desired responses.
  • Continue pre-training using unstructured engineering documents and data.
  • The expected day-to-day responsibilities required for the above goals:
  • Evaluate, compare and recommend user platforms and LLMs
  • Work environment set up and pipe-cleaning for selected platforms/LLMs.
  • Build end-to-end workflows and pipelines for data preparation (labeled and unstructured)
  • Knowledge transfer: training engineers with transformer, NLP, LLM theory, parameters/knobs/prompting. Maintain documentation for each task.
