Requirements

  • Must be available to start working in a full-time capacity in 2024/2025
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be a commutable distance to NYC and able to work in the office 4 days per week
  • Able to work the full dates of the program (June 3-August 8)
  • Must have the ability to prioritize work
  • Must have a love of books!
  • Applicants must be eligible to work and be paid in the United States
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Should have an interest in learning about corporate archives, the rich history of HarperCollins, its authors and titles.
  • Applicants MUST submit a cover letter. Applications without cover letters will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and Inventorying of HarperCollins Christian Publishers archival materials, and adding the material to the HC Digital Archives, as well as our Records Management System.
  • Reviewing and Inventorying of Harper San Francisco archival materials, and adding the material to the HC Digital Archives, as well as our Records Management System.
  • Reviewing Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Author Photos.
  • Intern will assist with on-site digitization of corporate documents and archival materials to be added to our HarperCollins Digital Archives.
  • Intern will be assigned historical related tasks such as compiling a list of publication anniversaries and public domain titles.
  • Intern will assist in the cataloguing of New York Times best sellers and seasonal catalogs.
