Requirements

  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering major.
  • Junior and Senior candidate with graduation dates of December 2025 and earlier preferred.
  • Must be actively pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree as indicated above and at minimum classified as a sophomore or beyond.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

Responsibilities

  • - Work in Real Time Simulator lab and Relay lab.
  • - Model interconnected transmission system, simulate phenomena on various equipment and develop reports.
  • - Order equipment, connect relays and communications equipment into panels, and develop drawings.
  • - Obtain data and work with universities on research projects.
  • - Specific duties will vary based on projects and intern aptitude.
  • - Performing design based on project scoping and site visits
  • - Utilizing design software to model surveyed field configurations
  • - Preparing operational one-line drawings
  • - Validate estimating prices and equipment units, ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects
  • - Managing projects that are in construction
  • - Completion of as-built documentation
  • - Participate in weekly planning coordination calls
  • - Work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
  • - Responding to equipment failures
  • - Support lab testing and operations
  • - Transmission Substation and Line database management
  • - Support of business analytic processes through data mining and reporting, as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning, economic analysis, maintenance, design, project management and construction, and operations
  • - Travel may be required for the position
