Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program focused on library/information sciences, history, English, journalism, technical writing/editing, or similar communications-centered topics
  • Experienced with digital file management
  • Able to prepare and edit written documents
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and to complete all assignments as required
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills; the candidate will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels
  • Able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision
  • Requisition Preferences:
  • Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program focused on library/information sciences, history, English, technical writing/editing, or similar communications-centered topics
  • Longform publication experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Interview experience

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate documents, records, and transcripts for inclusion into the chronology
  • Integrate portfolio of topics through indexing and other organizational methods to help build the chronology structure
  • Assist in interviews of current and former Orbital Debris Program Office personnel
  • Research space debris references, such as articles, papers, and other publications
  • Work in the orbital debris archives with material gathered during interviews and literature searches, along with other archival material
  • Present work products to customers and counterparts (written & verbal)
  • Work closely with JETS-II Orbital Debris Research & Science Operations (ODRSO) colleagues and NASA Orbital Debris Program Office (ODPO) customers
  • Perform other duties as needed
