  • You'll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges and should have a genuine interest in SSE and the prospect of a long-term future with us.

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of our multi-disciplined teams, we have a range of opportunities for students to support projects across our Transmission business.
  • You will have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge into a Project Managers responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of projects.
  • This placement is designed to develop your understanding on delivering projects in line with clear objectives and making decisions to manage stakeholder expectations by working with a multi-skilled team to deliver the project to time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Seeking a summer placement student to help support the successful delivery of transmission projects needed to meet the UK government’s 2030 net zero targets.
  • Working with the Project Manager, a typical day will involve collaborating with a wider team to plan, execute and monitor projects during the refinement and construction phases.
  • Working closely with Contractors to successfully deliver our projects, you will have the opportunity to be based both in the office and on-site.
  • This will require a flexible approach to working both in a team and undertaking some tasks working alone.
  • You will also develop an understanding of our safety culture and values.
  • We are looking for summer placement students to help ensure safe and sustainable delivery of scope elements on time and within budget.

Placement students will be working with the Capital Development and Delivery Team or the Eastern Green Link (EGL) Project Team.
