Requirements

  • You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The experience listed below may be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a full-time student pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a semiconductor-related field.
  • 1+ years’ experience in semiconductor device or process physics with an emphasis on modeling.
  • 1+ years’ experience in one of the following:​
  • Programming in C/C++/Python or equivalent for development positions
  • Using TCAD or atomistic simulation to study devices or processes.

Responsibilities

  • You will be working in a dynamic team environment that helps develop the latest device technology for Intel microprocessors, using your expertise to develop and apply device and process modeling tools research advanced devices. Specific duties include development of advanced, physics-based simulation tools and/or application of these simulators to understand fundamental issues in device design.
  • Areas of expertise that are applicable to this position include:
  • Device: Advanced device transport, quantum effects, electronic structure, device novel device and memory operation, optoelectronics, mesh generation, software architecture and numerical methods for device problems
  • Process: Defect-coupled diffusion/activation, computational materials science, FEM based stress simulation, modeling of novel processes and materials, software architecture, numerical methods for process problems, three-dimension meshing and computational geometry, and parallel programming.
  • This is an internship and compensation will be given accordingly based on candidate education level and internship duration.
