Requirements

  • Candidate needs to be enrolled in or have completed formal training towards an Associates Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in a program curriculum related to the telecommunications or electrical building industry.
  • Previous government, institutional, or commercial facilities project intern experience preferred.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork is required.
  • Strong problem solving skills required.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel required.
  • Experience in AutoCAD required. Experience with Revit, 3D CADD preferred.
  • Credentials as an RCDD or working towards this title is desirable.
  • Familiarity or knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Internship positions at Jacobs provide students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in specific area of study. Working in a fast-paced, professional setting provides interns with invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment. While working alongside and in support of a group of world-class professionals in your chosen field of study.
  • At Jacobs our Telecommunication Designers provide a range of skills as part of an integrated building services design. Our skills include system planning, design, and construction coordination.
  • Design telecommunication and security systems and associated details.
  • Prepare drawings detailing the system designed.
  • Prepare basis of design report for the project.
  • Select equipment for use in the building.
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
  • Develop equipment and system specifications.
