Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be supported through the Mammography Associate Programme to obtain the qualifications to undertake screening mammography in accordance with NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) standards.
  • The apprenticeship in mammography is a new route, which will enable the mammography associate to undertake routine 2 view mammograms.
  • You will be trained to undertake mammograms (breast x-rays) of women to aid in the early detection of breast cancer and assisting during special procedures in assessment clinics, in addition to helping with other breast screening processes as necessary.
  • This very busy service will require you to work in both static and mobile screening sites on a rotational basis.
  • This post necessitates travel across this area and therefore the use of a car and a current driving licence is desirable.
