Requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills; excel required, scripting a plus
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with clients
  • Creative Problem Solving
  • Currently pursuing undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or related discipline
  • Must have the ability to conduct tasks independently
  • Strong interest in transportation engineering

Responsibilities

  • Perform field work either alone or in pairs taking measurements, pictures, visually confirming survey locations and detailing existing traffic control facilities.
  • Perform analysis of traffic, parking, and multimodal transportation data.
  • Create text and spreadsheet documents and manipulate data.
  • Effectively interact with VHB staff to advance projects in a timely manner
  • Engineering calculations
  • Preparing figures, diagrams, and conceptual schematics for transportation systems
