Requirements

  • Experience reading scripts and completing script coverage
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Strong understanding of and interest in current film and television landscapes
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Willingness to think on the fly and be flexible
  • Must have strong verbal and written skills, be punctual, and be a team player
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.
  • Nice To Haves:
  • Previous internships in the entertainment industry strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Write coverage on a wide range of material for potential projects such as scripts, books, and articles that are submitted to the studio
  • Create and maintain lists/grids of available actors, writers, and directors for current and future projects and distribute them to necessary groups
  • Cover desks of executives, including rolling calls and scheduling meetings
  • Track competitive projects and assist with research on our projects currently in development
  • Watch clips, dailies, and rough cuts of our projects in production (including attending test screenings, when possible)
  • Watch films from up and coming filmmakers
  • Shadow each current executive/assistant on a weekly basis
  • Listen in on calls, pitches, and staff meetings and take network notes
  • By the end of the internship, interns should have a better understanding of how studios and film productions function, and have developed their taste and knowledge of up and coming writers and filmmakers. They'll be better prepared for future jobs in the industry, and hopefully, will be proud of the work they did when the specific movies or tv shows they touched are released.
