Requirements

  • A current 2nd, 3rd, or penultimate year undergraduate student at the University of Edinburgh
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in writing which has included images and/or tables.
  • Working independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of researching, collating, and analysing information.
  • Experience of project planning and working to deadlines.
  • Desirable:
  • Knowledge of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
  • Experience in conducting surveys and/or interviews.

Responsibilities

  • This is one of three internships advertised around the mapping of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) to the School of Engineering’s undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. More details can be found in the Dimensions section below.
  • With your fellow interns on this project, create a shared cataloguing system in which to input data (10%)
  • Collect and then analyse data by reviewing online documentation related to courses and curricula, and conducting interviews and/or surveys to collect additional data (55%)
  • Write reports on what you have learnt including the strengths of, and opportunities to improve, the degree curricula (25%)
  • Create a series of infographics about how well the School of Engineering’s different degree curricula align with the SDGs (10%)
