Requirements

  • College level courses in math, technical drafting, computer assisted drafting and/or science may be required. No experience is generally required with the applicable college courses or equivalent training, or if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field. Completed related class courses for water resources (preferred)
  • Positive attitude and motivation for continuous learning
  • Interest in transportation drainage design and/or general water resources
  • Must have completed 48 hours (or rising Junior) towards a civil engineering, environmental engineering, or relevant degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2024).
  • SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases. Experience with Microsoft Suite products.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing routine engineering work on track to develop professional proficiency.
  • Assist in conveyance of design intent through engineering plans/docs for construction.
  • Assist in the compilation of design data and the preparation of construction plans/documents.
