Requirements

  • 2D and 3D computer aided design on a variety of software packages
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret contract documents and have a strong knowledge of Excel and MS Word
  • Ability to create contract documents across a variety of theming styles, using hand drawings, 2D and 3D programs (AutoCAD, Revit and Rhino preferred). Interoperability between many other programs would be helpful.
  • Able to follow and apply all company drafting standards, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work well in an integrated design team with multiple disciplines.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional experience in Film, Theatre or Theme Park industry
  • Required Education:
  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, or graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree in Theatre Design, Film Production, Architecture, or related field with specialty in Scenic Design, Production Design, Interior Design, or Architecture
  • Preferred Education:
  • Educational experience in Film, Theatre or Theme Park industry
  • Additional Information:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship​
  • Must be at least 18 years of age​
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. ​
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization​

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and expert coordination of the project design intent as directed by Principal and Senior Show Set Design leads for the project
  • Support development, coordination, and communication of production design concepts to the project team
  • Assist production designers and model shop artists in coordinating models with drawings
  • Research applicable materials and construction techniques
  • Assist in maintenance and creation of show lists
  • Support mock-ups and presentations including set-ups and strikes
  • Work on a team to create show set contract documents, within company standards and guidelines
