Requirements

  • Passion and desire to learn about the creative industry
  • Off the charts curiosity and a take-action attitude
  • Connection to the iU purpose and mission
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Availability to work during the entire summer program
  • General knowledge with HTML/CSS/Javascript
  • General knowledge of Git
  • Desire to learn a variety of web technologies including Ruby frameworks (Ruby on Rails and Ruby)
  • A basic understanding of Vue.js

Responsibilities

  • Learn the role and responsibilities of each team within iU
  • Work closely with your intern manager that will guide and assign your tasks
  • Shadow projects and gain knowledge of the project lifecycle
  • Participate in project brainstorms
  • Gain hands-on experience performing coordinator tasks for iU projects
  • Work with fellow interns on an internal, live project
  • Test new features on iU web projects
  • Learn about Ruby on Rails and Vue.js frameworks
  • Learn about web UI and design best practices
  • Assist in our agile transformation by learning and applying scrum/agile methodologies
  • As a Web Development Intern, you’d be specializing in either front- or back-end development
