Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Swiss university undertaking a bachelor of master degree preferably in economics, finance, data sciences or related fields
  • Able to deal with large quantity of data, linking the business needs to the IT developments
  • Advanced MS office skills, especially Excel. Power BI experience is an advantage
  • In possession of theoretical skills as they relate to financial markets, products and analysis of financial statements
  • Capable of fostering positive working relationships with colleagues at all organizational levels
  • Results driven, adaptable with a hands-on practical approach
  • Able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to work effectively within an environment that has quickly changing processes, priorities, and deadlines

  • Fluent English speaker (written and spoken) other languages would be of advantage
  • Based in Switzerland
  • For the whole duration of the working student contract, you need to be enrolled at university or a center of further education

Responsibilities

  • Support in the preparation of credit approvals in reinsurance area
  • Support in rating reinsurers that are not externally rated by using a dedicated credit scorecard
  • Support the maintenance of Zurich’s global credit risk database
  • Keep track of the key statistics of the reinsurance portfolio and twice a year prepare a comprehensive presentation for the Corporate Reinsurance Securities Committee (CRSC)
  • Involvement in ongoing ad-hoc projects related to reinsurance
  • Support in ensuring data controls function appropriately and data is managed across functions including investments, credit insurance, reinsurance, treasury, etc.
