  • To be eligible for our quantity surveying opportunities, you will have less than 12 months relevant work experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve a degree in one of the following degree subjects:
  • Quantity Surveying
  • For our estimators and intelligence consultants, we will also consider applicants with the following degree subjects: 
  • Project Controls
  • Economics
  • Engineering disciplines
  • Construction Project Management
  • In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.
  • We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:
  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Quantity Surveyor: Our Quantity Surveying team works throughout the whole lifecycle of a project to accurately manage the capital of the project and predict the financial impacts that the property or infrastructure assets have on a client’s business model. You’ll gain valuable experience in every step of the way and will have exposure to contract reviews and settlement of construction
  • Graduate Cost and Carbon Estimator: Our Estimators work to develop valuations and cost plans for our projects. You’ll be responsible for analysing plans, bills of quantities, and other project documentation to estimate costs in a variety of industries as well as creating monthly reports and standard documentation while helping to prepare and analyse tender documentation.
  • Graduate Cost and Carbon Intelligence Consultant: Our Cost and Carbon Intelligence Consultants utilise applicable analytical techniques to provide inflation consultancy and context to the financial and carbon outputs of our projects thereby improving a projects governance, value for money and overall efficiency.
  • It doesn’t stop there, our work spans a variety of sectors including Environment and Water, Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Property, and Transportation. The exposure you’ll receive from our multidisciplinary projects will stand you in good stead for a flourishing career.
  • As part of your application, we will ask you to select your preferred opportunity based on the sector and location. Some of our opportunities will require you to be eligible to achieve security clearance, this is shown in the selection choices. Security clearance is dictated by the types of projects we work on and normally requires you to be a UK British national or lived in the UK for five years or more.
